Not allowed to check out anymore books! Oh, pish posh!, Elsie thought, disappointed after she left the library and sat in the hall outside, They have enough books, can't I take one more?

Having come to the revelation of the fact she actually adored adventure books, she had aimed to take out a few. No, she wouldn't have all that much time to read, and she was well aware, but the combination of being under the illusion of still spending a lot of time inside and the excitement of taking out books caused her to want to check out a lot of books.

However, being rejected from taking out just one more book, she decided she didn't need the books, and her leisure time out of class could be spent around the school. She hadn't yet taken in the pictures and stunning architecture, so vast a change from Little Corner of The World, Europe. She had barely left her house, much less her town. The transition from finding new cracks in the walls everyday to talking to pictures was wild.

Now inspired and motivated, she rose, then decided to walk, hope to run in to someone, and if not, just take in the families of artwork she came across.

"You're loss!" Annora scowled as the library head nicely escorted Oscar and herself out of the library. "You're library cannot handle the abundance of personality that my snake and I have to offer!" The older woman laughed slightly as she pointed to a sign that read,

"I can't read that," Annora tried to tell the woman, but she walked away a little too quickly. Annora decided to just assume that the sign was saying that pets were not permitted. She looked down at Oscar, his little snake eyes shimmering in the dimly lit hallway. "We are just too cool I guess," She told him.

She noticed a blonde girl that she recognized from class walking with a large stack of books.
"You had no trouble getting into the ibrary, eh?" She laughed, making her way towards the girl.

She smiled at company, "Nope! Just a struggle to get out with a mission accomplished."

Her gaze caught the snake she held with care and friendliness, and perceived that it was harmless.

"Oh! Who are they?" She wanted to reach out and touch him, but needed permission. "Is he... Magical?"

MacKenzie looked over from where she was browsing mystery books, hearing the soft whispers of conversation come from outside of the library. Her mind set on being social and gaining friends, she put down the Sherlock Holmes book she was skimming and poked her head out into the hallway, recognizing Elsie, but not the other girl talking to her.

"Hello, I couldn't help but over-OH MY GOD," she shrieked mid sentence, finally seeing the snake in the other girls arm. "Oh my, that's a snake? Oh god is he, or she, safe?"

Mira was just on her way to the library on this fine rainy morning, when she saw a group of girls crowded around the entrance with a pet snake. She jumped back in surprise.

"Is...that a snake?" she asked, pointing at it. "They allow that here?"

"Wow he's really that interesting?" Annora laughed. Back in New York, someone having a snake was absolutely nothing. She once saw a person on the street who had a baby panda bear.

Oscar, however, was eating up all of the attention he was getting. He now had his scaled body wrapped around Annora's neck and was flashing a toothy snake smile.

"He is a bit of an attention hog, though. Oscar is totally harmless and the only place we've been kicked out of is the library."

"Really? And your dorm-mates are okay? I mean, I'm not sure what the...umm...whichever dorm you are in looks like, but, hm."

Mira looked up through her blue-rimmed glasses. "Oh, I'm Mira. Mira Hendrix."

"At first my roommates were kind of iffy about it," Annora responded. "I mean snakes freak most people out. The people of Bravura eventually grew quite fond of him, as most people do."

"Nice to meet you, Mira," She smiled. "The name's Annora, Annora Oliver."
